BDS MJDF RCS (Eng) - Principal Dentist

Bhupinder is one of the Principal Dentists and is married to Harpreet.


Bhupinder qualified from the University of Birmingham in 2013. He completed his Foundation Training year in Sheffield and has since worked in both NHS and Private Practices across the Midlands. He has been on a number of courses to enhance his skills since and aims to provide ethical and comprehensive care to his patients.


Bhupinder has a keen interest in Orthodontics, being a 6 Month Smile and Invisalign provider, as well as Facial Aesthetics, where provides Botox and Fillers services. He has also completed a 1 year Implant Course with the BAIRD Academy, another area he has a special interest in.


Bhupinder is a Joint Educational Supervisor for our Foundation Dentist and is involved in education and teaching.

Harpreet has been a part of Walmley Dental Practice since 2015, where she started as Alison Thornley's Foundation Dentist. She is married to Bhupinder and is one of the Partners.


Harpreet qualified from the University of Birmingham in 2015 with Honours and a Distinction in Clinical Dentistry. She was awarded the Carlton Gold Medal for most outstanding student in her year and the DENTSPLY Prize for Clinical Excellence, which is awarded to the student with the best clinical case. During her Foundation Training year, she was mentored by Alison Thornley, and she won an award for the Best Clinical Case. Harpreet then took a year to do a Senior House Officer Role in the North West in Oral and Maxillofacial Surgery (OMFS). During these few years Harpreet has been involved in some research and been published in several journals. She has a special interest in Endodontics (Root Canal Treatment) and has a MSc in Endodontology. She is also a Tier 2 accredited provider for Endodontics, where she accepts complex referrals from other Dentists and the Dental Hospital. 


Harpreet is a Joint Educational Supervisor for our Foundation Dentist and is involved in education and teaching.

Sarah studied Dentistry at the University of Birmingham, where she was elected President of the University Dental Student Society for 2 terms. She was also the President of the British Dental Student Association, representing the interests of students nationally. During her undergraduate studies, Sarah was awarded several prizes in recognition of her work. Sarah graduated with Clinical Distinction, in acknowledgement of the high standard of her clinical work as an undergraduate.


After graduating, Sarah undertook placements in dental hospital posts to further her knowledge in multiple fields, gaining insight into the management of multidisciplinary cases.


Sarah returned to the Midlands to complete her specialist training in Orthodontics at Solihull Hospital and Birmingham Dental Hospital. Following this training she was awarded a Master’s degree and a Membership in Orthodontics from the Royal College of Surgeons in Edinburgh.

Kal qualified from Guys, Kings and St. Thomas’ Dental School at the University of London in 2011. He completed his training in Portsmouth and gained membership to the Royal College of Surgeons. Prior to joining our practice, he has worked in Australia, London, and Coventry.

 

Being strongly committed to continuing professional development, Kal has Postgraduate Diplomas in Fixed and Removable Prosthodontics, Aesthetic Medicine, and a Masters degree in Orthodontics.

 

His fascination with orthodontics started during his early years of training, and flourished in his early years as a post graduate. 

 

Kal has since completed numerous courses in orthodontic dentistry as part of his continuing professional development including discreet solutions such as Inman Aligner, Clear Correct, and Invisalign. 

 

He continues to work with some of the best dentists and orthodontists in the field, and is also able to provide fixed orthodontics with ceramic and traditional brackets to adults and children both on the NHS and privately.

 

He is ‘dental phobia certified’ and regularly treats patients who experience high levels of anxiety at the dentist. He prides himself on patients saying he has a calm demeanour and gentle touch.

 

When he’s not making his patients smile, he’s making his family smile. His two cheeky boys keep him and his beautiful wife busy outside work.

 

He likes to keep fit by weight training and outdoor pursuits. He is a keen golfer, plays badminton, and also enjoys house renovation work. Track racing and automotive mechanics is a passion alongside dentistry, and he has built a kit car and motorbikes in the past.

Tanya originally qualified as a dental nurse/ Oral Health Educator from Birmingham Dental Hospital and was part of our team for 10 years before leaving to retrain as a Dental Hygienist/ Therapist. She qualified from Sheffield University in 2017.

Chelsy graduated from the University of Manchester in 2019 with a dual qualification in Dental Hygiene and Therapy.  She then completed  her Foundation Training in Birmingham and has worked in mixed and private dental practices across the West Midlands. She is currently in the process of completing a Postgraduate Diploma in Aesthetic and Restorative Dentistry. 


Chelsy's role involves educating patients on their oral health, ensuring that it is well maintained both in surgery and at home. She enjoys being a part of our patients’ journey and ensuring those that are dentally anxious, are at ease and have a pleasant experience in our practice. She particularly enjoy working with patients to whiten their teeth and given them confidence in their smile again.


In her spare time, she enjoys baking and spending time with family and friends.

Halima graduated in Dental Hygiene and Therapy in July 2022, from the University of Birmingham and joined the Walmley team soon after. 


In her spare time she enjoy hikes and trying new cuisines.

Head Dental Nurse

Rebecca (also known as Katie) started Dental Nursing in 2011, where she completed the qualification at Matthew Bolton College. . She joined Walmley Dental Practice in 2015.


Since then she has worked in multiple private practices, as well as NHS. 


Katie is currently our Dental Hygiene lead and has taken the extra qualification to become First Aid trained. She has a keen interest in Orthodontics, working alongside our Orthodontist for the past 8 years.

Gaby joined Walmley Dental Practice in April 2019 as a trainee Dental Nurse. She passed her Dental Nurse Qualification in April 2021 and has since achieved an extra qualification in Dental Radiography. Outside of work Gaby enjoys walking her two dogs and socialising with family and friends.

Diksha is currently training to become a qualified Dental Nurse. She enjoys being hands-on at work and loves that she is learning something new everyday. Diksha enjoys working with the team and says all our staff are a great support and will go the extra mile for you. 


Outside of work she enjoys shopping and learning how to cook.

Admin Staff

Practice Manager

Lorna became part of Walmley Dental Practice in 2011 as a receptionist. In 2012 she then started her Dental Nurse Diploma at Matthew Boulton College. Since qualifying she has gained her extended duties certificate in Treatment Co-ordination and is our Practice Manager. Lorna still nurses from time to time to keep up her skill and knowledge. She is also a qualified Radiographer.

Reception Manager

Elaine has been with the team at Walmley Dental Practice since 2010, keeping reception running smoothly. She is also our Denplan Champion, and can answer any questions you have regarding this monthly payment scheme. Elaine manages the accounts, and is happy to answer queries you have regarding your bill and treatment plan fees.

Receptionist

Becky joined the practice in October 2019 as a Receptionist. She works closely alongside Elaine on the reception and she enjoys talking to the patients and helping them feel at ease.
